Mrs. Vu Thi Hai Anh earned a BA in Banking and Finance at National Economics University, Hanoi in 2005. She is currently finishing her MA degree on "Structural changes in Industry and Trade during 1986 - 2005 in Vietnam: An Input - Output Analysis" under the requirements of the Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy. Her research interests cover Development Economics, Economic Structure Changes, and Public Policy.

She is a member of the International Input-Output Association (IIOA).

Dr. Pham The Anh earned his BA degree at the Faculty of Business Administration in 1998 from National Economics University, Hanoi. He then obtained his MSc (with distinction) and PhD degrees in economics at Manchester University in 2003 and 2007, respectively.

 

Pham The Anh is currently a senior lecturer in Macroeconomics at National Economics University, Hanoi. He was a senior researcher of the Policy Advisory Group, Ministry of Finance from October 2007 to December 2008. He is author/co-author of many published articles and working papers

Dr. Tu Thuy Anh graduated from Foreign Trade University, Hanoi in 1995, then completed her MSc degree in Economics at Laval University, Canada in 2001. She earned a PhD degree in Economics from Iowa State University in 2005.

 

Tu Thuy Anh is Dean of International Economics Department of Foreign Trade University, and a visiting lecturer at the Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP) and Hanoi RMIT University. She was also a Senior Research Fellow of the Policy Advisory Group in the Ministry of Finance during Dec 2007-Dec 2008.

 

Her research interests include International Trade, Microeconomic Theory, Labor Economics and Public Financial Issues in Vietnam. Thuy Anh is author/co-author of many quantitative articles published in recognized academic journals.

Dr. Vu Pham Hai Dang received both his second MA degree in Economics in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree in Economics in 2008 from New York University, USA.  Dang got his first MA degree in Developmental Economics from the Vietnam-Netherlands Programme for Master Degree in Development Economics, Vietnam  National University, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2000 and his BA in International Economics at Foreign Trade University, Hanoi  in 1997.

Dang’s main research interests include Macroeconomic Theory, Labor Economics, migration and inequality in wage and income.

Dr. Dang is now a researcher at VEPR.

 

Pham Van Ha, PhD

Dr. Pham Van Ha is currently deputy director of Institute of Financial Science, Ministry of Finance. He earned his PhD degree in Development Economics from the Australian National University in 2006. In 2007, he was a senior researcher of  the Policy Advisory Group at the Ministry of Finance.

His research interests cover Development Economics, Macro-econometrics, CGE modelling, and Public Financial Issues of Vietnam. Dr. Ha is author of many articles and book chapters which were published domestically and internationally.

Dr. Nguyen Hang got her BA in International Economics at Foreign Trade University, Hanoi in 1997, received her first MA degree in Development Economics from the Vietnam-Netherlands Program and a Masters Degree in Developmental Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1999. She received her second MA degree in Macroeconomics in 2005 and her Ph.D. degree in Economics (Finance and Macroeconomics major) in 2008, both from New York University, USA.

Hang’s main research interests include Macroeconomic Theory, Business Cycles, Monetary Policy, Optimal Financial Contracts, Asymmetric Information and Credit Risk Sharing.

Dr. Hang is now deputy director of research of VEPR.

Dr. Do Ngoc Huynh completed his MSc in 1999 and earned his PhD in public economics in 2005 at Osaka University, Japan. He is a visiting lecturer at the Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP), National Economics University.

His research interests are policy issues in Vietnamese Public Finance.

Pham Tuyet Mai, M.Sc

Ms. Pham Tuyet Mai joined VEPR after 2 years of working at the Center for Agriculture Policy (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam) as a researcher and project coordinator, and a half year working as a Portfolio Strategy Analyst in a strategic partnership between Prosperity Initiative and the Center for Agricultural Policy.

She holds a B.A. in Foreign Trade and International Relations from the College of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and an M.Sc in Agribusiness Management from National Pingtung University of Sciences and Technology, Taiwan.

Pham Tuyet Mai is the deputy director of VEPR.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh graduated from the National Unversity as a Mathematics major in 1986 and then completed her PhD in economics at Flinder University, Adelaide, Australia 2006. Dr Minh is a senior lecturer at the Center for Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP), and a member of Policy Advisory Group, Ministry of Finance.

Her research fields include Applied Econometrics, Economic Mathematical models and Public Finance issues. She is the author of many articles published in domestic and international journals.

Mr. Dinh Tuan Minh is currently a PhD Candidate at Maastrict University, Netherlands. He was a senior researcher in the Policy Advisory Group, Ministry of Finance from March to November 2008.

His research fields are the Autrian School of Economics, Innovation Changes, Structure of Firms, and current public economic issues related to the Vietnamese economy.

Nguyen Don Phuoc graduated from the National School of Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE).

Former Economic Affairs Officer of UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), and consultant for UNCTAD under the IMF/UNDP project VIE/93/007 - Strengthening of Financial Policies and Institutions (Debt Manangement component).

Mr. Dao Nguyen Thang earned a BA degree in Auditing and Finance at National Economics University, Hanoi in 2004, and then obtained a distinguished MA degree in Development Economics from the Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP) in 2006. He is currently on leave for a PhD program in economics at Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.

Thang is author/co-author of many quantitative research papers on international trade, salary reform, migration, labor and employment choices in rural Vietnam. He is currently a memeber of the Policy Advisory Group, Ministry of Finance. He also gives lectures on Vietnamese Economy, Statistics and Quantitative Analysis at the National Economics University and International School of Vietnam National University.

Dr. Thanh earned his PhD. in Development Economics from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan in 2008, MA in Developmental Economics from Vietnam-Netherlands Program and a Masters Degree in Developmental Economics, National Economics University, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2001, and BA in Banking and Finance from the Department of Banking and Finance, National Economics University, Hanoi , Vietnam in 1999.

 

Dr. Thanh has been teaching economic theory and macroeconomics at leading universities in Vietnam. He was a senior researcher in the Policy Advisory Group at the Ministry of Finance from March 2007 to September 2008.

Dr. Thanh's research interests include Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, Development Economics, Economics of the Brain Drain and Labor Mobility, and  CGE modelling.

Dr. Thanh is a contributing member of the East Asian Economic Association.

Dr. To Trung Thanh is a lecturer of economics on the Faculty of Economics, National Economics University. He earned his MA in Development Economics in 2001 at Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy. He then completed his PhD in Economics at University of Birmingham, UK in 2007. He is also a research fellow at some leading academic institutes in Vietnam.

His research interests include microeconomics, econometrics, and  the social security issues of Vietnam.

Bui Trinh

Mr. Bui Trinh graduated from Vietnam National University in 1984 with a major in Mathematics. He is a leading expert of  the General Statistics Office, Vietnam. His research interest is Input - Output analysis and regional I-O. He is visiting lecturer on I-O analysis for many academic institutes and local government programs in Vietnam.

Bui Trinh is author of many published articles and books on Input - Ouput Analysis and the System of National Accounts. He is a founding member of the Association of Regional Econometrics and Environmental Studies (AREES), which was founded by a group of Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and other Southeast Asian economists interested in the field.

Bui Trinh is a researcher at VEPR.

 

 

Hoang Xuan Trung, MA

Mr. Hoang Xuan Trung graduated from the National Economics University, Hanoi with a major Development Economics in 2001, then earned his MA in Development Economics in 2007 from the Vietnam - Netherlands Center for Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP).

 

Trung specializes in poverty analysis for Vietnam using microeconomic data. He is an expert on econometrics and STATA packages. He has published many papers in scientific journals.
