VEPR’s experts participate in the National Conference of the VCP’s Central Committee for Ideology Print E-mail

 

During the two days of 22 - 23/01/2010, VEPR’s experts participated in the National Conference on “Major economic theories in the new global context and their implications for Vietnam in Tuan Chau, Quang Ninh. The Conference was co-organized by the Central Committee for Ideology and several leading universities and research institutes in Viet Nam, including the University of Economics and Business- Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Participants in the Conference included the leaders of the Committee, VCP’s Central Office, Government agencies, national research programs, and the leaders of universities and economic research institutes.

The Conference focused on discussing broad and long-term topics that were both theoretically and practically applicable to Vietnam. The Conference also aimed to contribute to preparations for the Eleventh VCP’s National Congress and to the promotion of Doimoi in the new context.

VEPR’s experts contributed three papers to the Conference: “The development of macroeconomic theory since Keynes and its implications for Vietnam’s policy vision” by Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, “Hayek’s Liberalism” by MA. Dinh Tuan Minh, and “ Vietnamese economy in the context of the current world economyt," co-authored by Nguyen Duc Thanh and Dinh Tuan Minh.

 

Besides their own presentation, VEPR’s experts actively contributed discussion in all sessions of the Conference.

 

The three papers mentioned above will be edited and posted soon in VEPR Working Paper Series.
